Mostly known for its stunning castles and gardens, the Loire Valley is also home to a diverse array of high-quality wines that are beloved by wine enthusiasts worldwide. You'll first visit a traditional winery in Bourgueil, an area famous for its Cabernet Franc wines, where you'll learn about the whole wine-making process and taste some different wines. Next, you'll reach Chinon, a picturesque town whose grand royal fortress is where significant events happened, including Joan of Arc's attempt to convince Charles VII to grant her an army to free Orleans from the English. You'll spend some time exploring the town with your private guide and have some free time to try local specialties for lunch (not included). Chinon is also known for its rich and robust reds, which you'll get to sample during a visit to a lovely winery managed by locals.
