Morning: Medieval Freiburg

Your day begins with pickup from your Strasbourg hotel. Upon reaching Freiburg, discover a city where medieval traditions blend with modern environmental innovation. The guided walking tour centers on the magnificent Münsterplatz, the heart of the old city. Here, the Gothic Freiburg Minster rises 116 meters into the sky, its distinctive spire surviving centuries of history. Your guide will reveal the cathedral's unique features, including the "talking gargoyles" that local guilds sponsored to display their craftsmanship.

The tour continues to the Augustinian Museum, housed in a former monastery. Afternoon: The Mystical Black Forest

Your journey continues along the Black Forest High Road (Schwarzwaldhochstraße), offering spectacular views of dark pine forests and rolling hills. This landscape inspired numerous Brothers Grimm fairy tales, including Hansel and Gretel.

Optionally, you can stop at the scenic Titisee Lake, where the surrounding valleys showcase traditional Black Forest architecture. Here, you might sample the region's famous Black Forest cake, created in the 1930s by confectioner Josef Keller.
