Spend the day exploring Burgundy’s greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines

The Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune are two famous wine subregions of the Côte d'Or, a 50-kilometre-long grape-growing area that's among the best in the country. You’ll first reach the Côte de Beaune, renowned for making some of the best Chardonnays in the world, although Pinot Noir reds are the majority of its production. Located in the southern part of the Côte d'Or, this subregion is named after Beaune, a lovely town famous for its annual Hospice de Beaune charity wine auction. As part of the tour, you’ll visit a local wine estate to learn about the best wines in this appellation, which include some of Burgundy’s famous Grands Crus like Corton-Charlemagne and Montrachet, and participate in a guided tasting session. Lunch is free, but you’ll have the option of a wine-tasting lunch at a family estate, a 4-course fine dining experience at Château Le Clos de Vougeot, or a vineyard restaurant lunch. In the afternoon, a scenic drive through quaint villages and picturesque countryside roads will take you to the Côte de Nuits, a strip of prestigious vineyards in the north part of the Côte d’Or known as the “Champs-Elysées” of Burgundy. After stopping at Romanée Conti’s iconic plot of vineyards for some photos, you’ll visit a private wine cellar to sample a selection of wines from different local winemakers paired with sweet and savour delicacies.
