The Côte de Beaune appellation is famous for making some of the best Chardonnays in the world. However, the majority of the wines produced here are red, made from Pinot Noir grapes. Located in the southern part of the iconic Côte d'Or, this subregion is named after the town of Beaune, which is famous for its annual Hospice de Beaune charity wine auction. On this tour, you’ll visit two wine estates: one at the heart of the so-called 'golden triangle' of Burgundy, where the region’s finest whites come from, and the other on the slopes of the prestigious Corton Hill along the Route des Grands Crus at the northern tip of the Côte de Beaune. During the visits, you’ll learn about the best local wines, which include some of Burgundy’s famous Grands Crus like Corton-Charlemagne and Montrachet, and participate in guided tasting sessions. Lunch is free, but you’ll have the option of a wine-tasting lunch at a family estate or dining in a vineyard restaurant.
