Normandy Landing Beaches: US Itinerary

Visit the D-Day beaches and battlefields and pay homage to the heroes of WWII

After a 2-hour drive west of Rouen, passing through Normandy’s charming countryside, you will start your day of discovery with a visit to Omaha Beach, the place where 3,000 American soldiers lost their lives on 6th June 1944.
You will see the American cemetery and a moving memorial museum displaying a collection of uniforms, weapons, and personal objects found on site. The next stop will be Utah Beach, which played a strategic role in the landings and today is home to a war museum that displays a collection of documents and historic artefacts recounting the events of the D-Day. The tour continues to Sainte-Mère-Eglise, one of the first towns to be liberated by the Americans and home to the Airborne Museum. If time allows, the driver will take you also to La Pointe du Hoc, where American rangers destroyed the German batteries in preparation for the landings in Omaha and Utah beaches.
