Visit Provence's famous Roman sites and historical places in a day trip from Avignon.

Climb aboard your luxurious minivan and begin your journey to Nîmes, a city of art and renowned for its Roman past. On the tour you'll visit the Arena (entry included) and the "Maison Carrée" (Square House), one of the best-preserved Roman temples, as well as the Gate of Augustus. Then it's onto medieval Uzès, with its famed Place aux Herbes (picturesque square), Episcopal Palace, Ducal Palace, Fenestrelle Tower (a unique bell-tower) and Cathedral all set against a backdrop of garrigues countryside (mediterranean vegetation). En route you'll also observe the Pont du Gard aqueduct; part of an ancient water system which supplied Nîmes with spring water in Roman times and is now listed by UNESCO World Heritage sites. The last stop on your tour is Orange's ancient theatre (entrance included) – an incredible remnant from antiquity.
