Full Day Etna North Slopes And Alcantara Gorges With Wine Tasting Lunch

The Tour starts with a magnificent walk on the edge of extinct craters in order to understand the structure of the Volcano and the life cycle of an eruption. Afterwards, equipped with torches and helmets we will visit a lava cave and back on the 4WD we will climb up an ancient lava flow in order to reach one of the most breathtaking sceneries the renowned ”Caldera” called “Valle del Bove”. For lunch we enjoy a wine tasting lunch in one of the renewed cellars. After lunch we reach the extreme limit of the volcanic area where we find the Monte Mojo, a hill of lava ashes coming out from a lower fracture that during the eruption created this spectacular crater. The lava flows arrived till the sea nearby Giardini Naxos and was carved during millions of years from the icy river Alcantara. Today you can admire this nature wonder renewed as the Alcantara Gorges, shapes all around are created by the erosion of the icy waters, in some point the gorges are 500mt deep.
